HIGHLIGHTS FROM AFRIGO BAND'S LONDON SHOW

One show dominated the entertainment this weekend for Ugandans in UK and that is the Afrigo band 40th Anniversary show which was held on Saturday 28th March at the Royal Regency. Everyone was just happy to attend and bring along the entire family because it's not often we get a chance to witness the greatest band from Uganda.

It was a reunion of sorts and the band itself didn't disappoint.  Organisers Grajoh had their hands full with overwhelming numbers and turn out which perhaps was not anticipated but they did their best under the circumstances to ensure people many of whom travelled to London got a chance to witness the historical show that they had paid to see. Notable contribution too came from members of the Ugandan Entertainment Connection UK who had complimentary tickets from Grajoh but instead volunteered and supported the Grajoh team facilitate proceedings.  This is the comeradarie we need as a growing industry.

Supporting acts included Dezire Luzinda who delighted fans with her song 'Ekitone' alongside UK acts such as Paddy Dee and Mc Moseh.

We hope to see more events of these magnitude and capacity but lessons must be learned where things didn't go to plan to restore customer confidence and value for money.

The Ugandan Entertainment industry as a whole is work in progress with potential for growth and its good to see stakeholders taking an active role to right the wrongs of the past but time will tell.
Check out the highlights from the event.
