6TH KITENGE FESTIVAL UK

The 6th Kitenge Festival UK will be held in London on the 11 August 2018. The day long celebrations is a family affair with plenty of activities.

Kitenge Festival UK is a non-profit community body which aims to promote African fashion, culture, business & the arts in the UK. The one day event is a unique platform which showcases Africa’s valuable, distinctive and unique heritage in a carnival/celebration atmosphere whilst instilling a sense of African pride. In its 6th year now, the event has grown exponentially and has become a major cultural event drawing local and international crowds. It is designed to appeal to influential figures, community leaders, movers and shakers, taste makers that take active roles in setting the mould for style, cultural trends and overall ingenuity within the African Community and the general public in the UK.

Last event

Our last event saw us celebrate our 5th anniversary making it the biggest in the series so far. The event attracted over 800 registered to attendees, 70 vendors & Stalls, 10 Food vendors, 11 local and international Designer fashion showcase.

UGANDA HIGH COMMISSIONER’S MENTAL HEALTH PLEDGE 

Earlier this afternoon I had the pleasure of witnessing the Ugandan High Commissioner H.E Julius Peter Moto sign the mental health pledge. The first Ambassador to sign it in London. This will mean mental health issues in Uganda are on our agenda and the pledge will seek to improve services for sufferers here in the U.K. and at home in Uganda. Thank you Moses for hosting us.

REST IN PEACE EBONY REIGNS

Celebrated Ghana’s rising dancehall artist was killed in a car crash eight days ago short of her 21st birthday. Her family and fans are holding a week long celebration of her life. The celebrations have gone viral on social media.
