JO NGANDA TO HOST ANNUAL FUNDRAISER FOR ABUSED WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Preparations are underway for the 5th Annual Hope Alive Mission Charity event due on Wednesday 30th November 2016 on a floating boat, the Battersea Barge, Nine Elms Lane, London SW8 5BP from 6- 10PM. The event organised by Jozyz Media is a key annual event that supports the work Jo Nganda (Founder) does to support
abused Women & Children’s Charities in the UK and Africa with a focus on helping individuals to create a positive change for people in their communities or organisations.
Mary Mambwa (JCI Greenwich Youth Leader) and a host of award winning motivational speakers and domestic violence survivors have been lined up including Magdalene Adeneike (Music Relief), Lady Waynett Peters (Founder, The Extra ordinary Achievers) and Zina Arinze (Author, Purpose after Abuse and Divorce).

This year's event has a fantastic line up including Evita musical and theatre sensation Madalena Alberto, X Factor star Marianna Zappi, Mobo Unsung Lady Marga MC, Bianca Smith, Kiyaye Life Crew and Wool Betah Soulja.

Guests will also enjoy a Silent and Live Auction, Raffle Draw and fashion showcase by Sistarmama and M clothing and comedy sets from international stand up comedian Katharine Ferns.

Jozyz At Africa On The Square 2016


Jozyz attended Africa on the Square which returned to Trafalgar Square for the third time on Saturday 15 October. This popular event celebrates African arts and culture. There was a range of activities highlighting communities from across the continent including a fantastic line-up of entertainment on the day including live music, DJs, dancing and a talent show. Plus an African market, food stalls, fashion show and lots of fun stuff for kids.
Sadiq Khan became the first London Mayor to join hundreds celebrating Africa on the Square.
Africa on the Square is organised by the Mayor of London for Black History Month 2016. Africa on the Square is supported by Lebara, Air France and The Voice and programme partner Open The Gate.

MISS UGANDA UK ATTENDS QUEEN OF KATWE SCREENING IN LONDON

Miss Uganda UK™ were invited by Walt Disney Studios to a special screening of the movie Queen of Katwe at Picturehouse Central, Piccadilly on Monday 10th October. The evening was in association with Plan International ahead of the International Day of the Girl on 11/10/2016 (www.plan-uk.org/standupforgirls)

We encourage everyone to go and see the Queen of Katwe which opens on 21/10/2016. It is inspiring, raw, funny, beautiful and heart-warming.

Thank you Walt Disney Studios for the special invitation and thank you Tendo Nagenda, Mira Nair, Lupita Nyong'o, David Oyelowo, cast and crew for bringing us this wonderful UGANDAN movie.

"Queen of Katwe is the vibrant true story of a young Ugandan girl, Phiona Mutesi selling corn on the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess by Robert Katende a soccer player turned missionary. As a result of the support she receives from her mother Harriet, family and community, Phiona is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion."
