Tips On How To Dress For Your Office Christmas Party

We’re all rather busy here at Jozyz Online head office as we get ready for our Christmas party. This is usually the perfect chance to get to know your colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. Its also an opportunity for you to rub shoulders with the boss you are trying to impress for that promotion or pay raise. Office Christmas parties are about having Fun,Team Building, Networking and the odd hooking up for some saucy colleagues. Anyway, we are more interested in what you have planned to wear to this most tricky shindig in a working boy/girl's life and with so many options available we know that it can be difficult deciding what to wear for the occasion. So, to save you from worrying this season we’ve included our top tips for dressing to impress at the Christmas party.

FOR YOU GENTLEMEN

For black tie parties;
  1.  A dinner suit will do wonders. Invest in a black or midnight blue  peak lapel collar jacket with satin facing lapels and trousers that feature a satin stripe down the outside of each leg. Wear with black accessories – black bow ties, studs and black shoes. Forget the trends, a good suit is for life and may well be handed down through generations, so buy something that suits your style and that will outlast the latest trend.
  2. We love a pleated front or wing collar dress shirt which conveniently comes with a loop at the back of the collar to feed your bow tie through when tying it.

  3. Don't forget a bow tie bow tie which despite its simplicity it is sophisticated and stylish.
  4. Make sure that you wear dress studs with a dress shirt and your cufflinks need to match your studs.
  5. Finish off the look with a white silk scarf, a white cotton handkerchief in your jacket pocket, a pair of black polished shoes and black socks to perfect your silhouette!
For Smart - Casual, Anything Goes Parties;
If you can’t break out of your rut of wearing jeans, this solution will work for most office Christmas parties. You can still have your jeans, but we’re going to add a bit of flavor to help you fit in. Jeans are the most versatile garments in your wardrobe — you just need to know a few things. No rips, no stone/acid wash and they should fit properly.

A nice pair of casual dress shoes or casual boots will finish this look of nicely.

Now that we have laid this all out for you, you should have no problem making a great impression at your office Christmas. Just remember to keep the tie around your neck and not on your head.

FOR YOU LADIES
GIRLS! Its important you strike the perfect balance between relaxed and sophisticated with a little bit of sexy in case the cute guy from accounts asks you for a dance. LOL!
  1. Opt for the perfect mixture of demure and sensual the result look should be professionally feminine.
  2. Try to keep the look as classic as possible with pearls or add a splash of bling and colour.
  3. Finish the look off with a pair of peep-toe ankle boots or heels.
  4. Remember the saying “Simple is Sexy” so go easy on the jewellery. A pair of  earrings and matching bracelets will give your look a perfect amount of sparkle.
  5. Watch that neckline. Plunging is good but too low and you risk crossing a fine line of hoochie or desperate. Keep a sophisticated edge.
  6. Don’t forget your red lipstick!
Most importantly, have a great time. Enjoy the PARTY!

MERRY X-MAS!
