ON THE AFRICANA SHOW TAKING LIFE AND HOPE UGANDA ON AIR

Myself and Melinda Nampiima on the Africana Show discuss the upcoming Life and Hope Uganda Charity Fundraising Event.  Mel is one of the organisers and will also perform spoken word for our guests on the evening.  18th April I will be holding a fundraising event at Mama Jumbe's to benefit the Ugandan Charity Life and Hope Uganda and it's work to train rural Uganda basic life saving skills.  Many areas have few or no hospitals so for most of these areas simple first aid could be the difference between a life or a death.

JUDITH HEARD'S MISSION TO HELP HER NEIGHBOURHOOD

Uganda's Judith Heard is a truly inspirational lady. More often she has been seen stopping to chat and feed her neighbourhood children sometimes giving out gifts. The lady with a big heart has extended that generosity by inviting the local kids to make back to school lists.

She then buys these items herself nut says it's everyone's responsibility to help those around them and is appealing to the public to help her on this mission by providing any time on the list.

GEALA CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISER

Saturday 22 November was all about the Geala Christmas Fundraising do. The event was held at Mama Jumbe's Restaurant in London with raffle draws, a silent auction and fantastic weekend giveaways.  The charity was founded by a young Ugandan lady Sandra Kababsambu with an aim to feed less fortunate families in Uganda. 

The event was hosted by BEFFTA award winner Mrz Biggz of Romiam Entertainment and PR.

So honored to have been a part of this event in the company of these inspirational group of people. I encourage you all to support and get involved in charitable community causes.

I am pleased to announce my appointment as International Ambassador for Life and Hope Uganda a not for profit organisation helping young people to realise their potential by building leadership through youth lead initiatives. I look forward to working with Life and Hope board and sharing a wealth of experience as we begins our biggest and important task to date to raise our profile, diversify our income base and forge new strategic partnerships so that we can bring maximum benefits to the communities we serve through the demand for our projects and services.

AMAZING WORK BY CHARITY PATH TO POSSIBILTY

The founder of this UK based charity  Titilolami Bello is in Nigeria to check on the work they do to transform lives of impoverished kids by giving them an education. The charity relies on your donations and sponsorship to carry out their amazing life changing activities.

To date they have 7 children in school, have built a community bore hole and are building a library. 

The transfirmation of these children's lives is evident in the pictures and seeing these smiles am filled with pride as a dedicated supporter and patron for this charity. This is the kick i needed to register and get on with fundraising for the charity's annual Race4Change and i hope you will join me.

Race For Change 2014 will be taking place on Saturday 5th July, Trent Park, north London.

Henry Atwooki Lutaaya To Run The London Marathon In Aid Of Charity Chickenshed

My Henry Atwooki Lutaaya is taking part in this year's Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for the charity Chickenshed. Chickenshed is a Theatre company that creates entertaining and outstanding theatre that celebrates diversity and inspires positive change. 

This year's London Marathon will take place on Sunday April 13, 2014.

The Virgin London Marathon is a celebratory sporting festival that attracts professional athletes, enthusiastic joggers and costume-wearing charity fundraisers alike. The 26 mile 385 yards race is run near the River Thames.

KEITH HEART FOUNDATION FUNDRAISING EVENT

Monica Ssewamala and friends at the KHF fundraiser event. Monica set up the London based charity named after her son who has survived several open heart surgeries to provide support to families and medical services to children with heart defects in Uganda.

 

The event was held at the Nile Bar in London and all friends, well wishers and supporters did their best to get in the spirit of things belting out their fave songs.

 

The KHF works to improve the quality of care and information available to families of children with heart conditions, especially those who can not effort the costly treatment

They partner with institutions in UK and Uganda, to provide medical facilities and expertise.

 

All help is always needed in the form of volunteers, sponsors, donors and fundraisers.

The Pauline Long Empowerment and Mentoring club: Mentors & Mentees Needed!

We are delighted to learn that BEFFTA Awards Founder and Talk show host Pauline Long has set up a mentoring club to inspire and give those in the community a flying start.

Pauline Long is a mother and wife ,entrepreneur, philanthropist, fashion designer, mentor, motivational speaker, writer and TV presenter.

The multi-award winning media mogul is founder of Black and Ethnic Personalities in Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts (BEFFTA). The awards ceremony is Europe’s biggest of its kind and celebrates the achievements of a very talented and hard-working community often over looked in the mainstream.
She has championed many causes in the Afro Caribbean community with an aim of  making a difference to those less privileged around the world spreading human love.
Charities like the Shai Foundation (Educating children in Haiti), Melqosh mission(supporting amputees in Sierra Leone) and Girl Child Network are in good company with Pauline as ambassador and patron.

The Pauline  Long Empowerment and Mentoring club will bring Pauline closer to the community she passionately serves and encourage networking and knowledge sharing between its members.
