If you are a crafter, artist, author, entertainer, small business owner, service provider and are looking to spread the word of your business around our community then you need to be at Kitenge Festival UK this summer happening on 25th June at west ham memorial grounds.

OBAMA GIRLS IN LONDON

The first lady Michelle Obama is in London and brought along her beautiful daughters and mother for the ride. When did they grow up? The young ladies look absolutely fabulous in their colorful dresses. Michelle was snapped at Downing Street with the Prime minister and his wife and then snapped at a secondary school motivating students. 

Can't wait to see what else is on agenda for this visit.

GRADUATION: CONGRATULATIONS TO RACHEL K ON GRADUATING AT NEW HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY

Musician Halima Namakula's youngest child last week graduated at the New Hampshire University in America. The high achieving only daughter of music Legend Halima has been pursing her college degree alongside her music career which could not have been easy but she has shown us all this can be done.

We wish Rachel the best of luck for the future.

Shai Foundation Fundraising Tea Party For Haiti

On 16th November I will be joining the Shai Foundation volunteers and well wishers for afternoon tea fundraiser in aid of orphans in Haiti. This amazing charity educates children in Haiti most of whom lost everything in 2010 Haiti earthquake including their families. 

 

"Educate a child and you educate an entire nation". I hope you will join me, let's make a difference to the children in Haiti." said Jennifer Lapompe (founder Shai Foundation). December sees the volunteers back to Haiti to check in on the 43 children they sponsor. The money raised will help ship goods and supplies to Haiti so come prepared for a fun afternoon of tea, treats, music and activities.

Don't forget to bring along a Christmas gift for the children.

CHILD POVERTY IS A SOCIAL INJUSTICE

4 million children, one in three are currently living in poverty in the UK. This is a high rate for an industrialised world and it is shocking but the figures don't bare thinking in the third world countries.

Poverty in itself is something no child should have to endure. Other than a profound impact poverty has on a child, their family, and the rest of society, it often sets in motion a deepening spiral of social exclusion, creating problems in education, employment, mental and physical health and social interaction.
